Using LED for diagnostic indications

The LED have been used by various techniques at variuos times for diagnostic indications in many electronic supplies, and equipment.
Their main usage has been in displaying different multicolour/single colour patterns to represent a definative diagnostic stage of an electronic equipment.
Also the varied illumination patterns of the LED have been used at times to represent a particualar cyclic state of many equipments.
